On my first day at college, I found out about my school's KIT program. KIT is short for Kanazawa Institute of Technology. Basically, the program sends students over to Japan to take classes during the summer. I was very excited about it and made plans to apply for it when I could (you needed at least one year of Japanese language instruction, preferably two.)
So I waited. And I waited. And I finally got into Beginning Japanese 1. Finally!! It's been over a year since I've started Japanese classes and I turned in my 13 page application to the KIT Fellowship Program just under a month ago. By the time the students are sent, I will have taken 2 years of Japanese!
Over 100 students applied to go this year. Almost everyone I know from my classes have applied. So, probably MUCH more than 100 people. They said right out that they only choose 10 students. I've been very good in Japanese, but not perfect and far from perfect in all my other classes. I waited with bated breath to find out.
And today I got the e-mail. I got in! I was accepted and will now be spending 6 weeks in Kanazawa in the summer of 2010 taking three Japanese related courses! I AM SO EXCITED!!!! This is something I've wanted for almost 4 years and I GOT IT! I cannot wait to find out who else got in. I'm so happy and proud of myself. ^_____^ I'm so gonna celebrate tonight! Woo!

I believe I have the right, as much as anyone else, to be friends with and hang with anyone without feeling bad about it. I should be able to comfort the ones that need it. Be able to laugh and have a good time with anyone I want to without worrying about what people say about it behind my back.
If you are saying untrue things about me and my friends, at least stop being a fucking coward and say it to my face.
